Speed punching bag

Even though professional boxers make hitting a speed punching bag look easy on TV, the fact is that hitting these bags is a lot more difficult than it appears when it is done by professionals. Pretty much anybody can learn to hit these bags, but it is important that he or she understands what to do before beginning to punch.

• Check the equipment – There are different kinds of bags that are suited for the different skill levels of different people. It is best to start off with a larger bag because it is easier to hit. As a person’s skill increases, he can move on to using smaller bags.

• Get the right stance – The position of a person’s body often determines how well he will hit a speed punching bag. A person’s shoulders should be square and his body should be directly in front of the bag. The feet should be at shoulder width apart and the bottom of the bag should be at chin level.
• Strike it – The bag should be struck with the front of the fist first and then with the side of the fist as the hitter’s arms move outward.

• Beginner’s steps – There is a four-step approach for beginners that most beginners find to be worthwhile. Most beginners will hit the bag once and then stop. They repeat this process a number of times. Then, they move on to the next step. On the next step, they hit the bag, wait until it has almost stopped and then hit it again.
On the third step, they will hit the bag and wait for it to bounce seven times. After the seventh bounce, they will then strike the bag again. The fourth step sees the hitter reduce this number to five and then to three.
Working this way can help a person work on a speed punching bag.
