Punching bags for kids
Perhaps the most common punching bags for kids are the inflatable clowns that tip over when bunch and then pop up again for another beating. Of course, these are more like toys than like punching bags. If you have a child who is interested in any sort of martial arts, he or she could really benefit from one of the real punching bags for kids – one of the ones made by Wavemaster or another company that also makes popular bags for adults.
When shopping for kids punching bags, you want to be sure that you find a bag that can grow with the child, literally – be sure that it has a good height adjustment. Also, consider the level your child is at and how much he or she will improve over the next few years – get a bag that is not only good for your child’s skills now, but will still be good a few years from now.
Kids can have a lot of fun with “realistic” punching bags for kids, like “Bobby Bully,” a child-sized Body Opponent Bag. They can practice sparring techniques and even chokeholds on one of these kid-sized lifelike mannequins. Of course, an adult may find it a little disconcerting to be beating up a kid-like mannequin…
Another good bag to look at is the Lil Dragon Wavemaster. This one has four height adjustments, so it can grow with your child. It also has a picture of Century’s Lil Dragon on one side, and the other side is screened with three colored numbers and three colored shapes – these can be incorporated into sparring and can be very fun for kids.
The Everlast Power Tower can be used both by children and adults. Of course, while you can get a great workout, improve your coordination, and vent stress while using this Everlast punching bag for kids and adults, the bag is not for more serious martial artists. This is actually kind of like a slightly grown-up version of the clown punching bag mentioned earlier.
